| Pedal PA is a bicycle
touring company, founded in 1995, with the goal of providing cyclists
with a vacation featuring beautiful scenery, fantastic food and accommodations,
full support and a challenging tour. From
lightly traveled roads, challenging climbs and ribbons of rolling
roads to stunning scenery, historical sites and creature comforts,
our goal is to have you focus on enjoying the scenery and the ride,
while we worry about all of the details involved in truly pleasurable
bicycle touring.
Most of our bicycle tours are based in Pennsylvania,
showcasing the commonwealth’s natural beauty and history.
Cyclists vacationing with Pedal PA live all around the United States
and Canada. We’ve had people from Alaska, Florida, California,
Ottawa—and even Pennsylvania! And many of our riders use our
bicycle tours to raise funds for their favorite charities and we
support them in their efforts.
Bill McCoach, owner of Pedal PA, takes an active
role in planning and executing each Pedal PA bicycle tour. An avid
cyclist, Bill has been riding and otherwise involved in cycling
for 25 years, including co-founding bike clubs—such as Suburban
Cyclists Unlimited (SCU)—and organizing and helping at community
events. In addition to serving as past president of SCU, he earned
an award from the League of American Bicyclists for best century
when he served as SCU’s century coordinator, designed the
club’s new Quad County century and was instrumental in growing
nightly bicycle club rides at two of the club’s major ride
locations. He is the logistical wizard behind each Pedal PA bicycle
tour, including scouting and planning routes. When he’s not
on the road for Pedal PA, you can find Bill at Indian Valley Bikeworks—the
bicycle shop he and his wife, Michelle, own in Harleysville, PA—or
spending time with Kevin and Kimberly, his two children.
The folks that help make Pedal PA bicycle
tours happen you may see on any of the
tours include: John Dzubinski, website, routes and logistics; Ed
Hall, Jason Meyers and Rich Mayberry, mechanics; Linda Jamison and
Emilie Atkinson, masseuses; Pat Joyce, SAG and rest stops; and Fred
Vielhauer, baggage and transportation. The Pedal PA team been working
to make our tours a success for our participants for a long time.
It’s because of their experience with both the company and
cycling that they are instrumental in creating the atmosphere of
calm, competent support that helps to signify Pedal PA
Riding with Pedal PA
on a fully supported bicycle tour means all you need to do is pedal
and enjoy the scenery. Leave the rest to us…
