Hi Friends - Pedal Pennsylvania is a Philadelphia-based bicycle touring company, founded in 1995. To date, we have conducted cross-PA tours, Penn Central -- Pittsburgh to Philadelphia --and Great Northern Crossing -- Erie to Philadelphia -- as well as River Ramble overnight jaunts. Now, what better time to usher in a brand-new ride than a brand-new millennium. We think you'll find Source of the Delaware a wonderful concept as we explore this great river. From its East Branch source in Great Gorge, NY and West Branch source in Stamford, NY, we'll cycle 500 miles of spectacular countryside and picturesque communities to Philadelphia's Independence National Historical Park. We owe a big thanks to Greenway Planner and Architect, Bob Thomas, of Philadelphia, who envisioned the ride. Besides new vistas, we're offering a new Inn-to-Inn and Resort concept to appeal to those appreciating more creature comforts. Included are stays at first-class inns and rustic resorts with old-world charm. And, for those who enjoy the camaraderie of camping, shake out those tents and sleeping bags. We'll be at a college, schools, camp grounds and on the grounds of one resort. We're proud that almost 1,000 cyclists from far and wide, including 36 states, Canada, England and Australia, have crossed Pennsylvania with us since 1995. We're also proud that many thousands of dollars have been raised for deserving charities large and small through our Pedal Pennsylvania Partnership program. We think that our tours have their own special personality. Our riders represent widely differing ages, home towns, backgrounds, and abilities. We've seen road bikes, hybrids, mountain bikes, tandems, folding Bike Fridays and recumbents. Yet a common theme seems to unit one and all -- the sheer enjoyment of cycling and time spent with friends old and new. For the third successive year we are happy to be partnering with our friends at Rails-to-Trails Conservancy (RTC) and offering the option to depart our on-road route from time to time to experience the pleasure and peaceful solitude of Rail-Trail riding. For all Source of the Delaware details -- including photos -- take a tour through our site. Hope we'll see you. Hope you'll bring friends, meet new friends and join the fun. Keep spinning!
