Route 97 New York (Hawk nest)

eastWestBranchHancock, NY  to  New Hope, PA

The Source of the Delaware is a 250 mile four day ride traversing magnificent and varied terrain. We experience many long stretches along the Delaware River, but we have not forgotten the climbers. New York's Catskills, the Poconos of Pennsylvania, and aptly named High Point in northern New Jersey have their share of challenges. Views can be spectacular, that's part of the appeal. Source of the Delaware, like other Pedal PA tours, is for a cyclist who relishes some long mile days and varying topography.

The Delaware River is a cycling gem. Many rivers that have figured prominently in the history and commerce of a region have become over developed commercially, residentially and complete with highway systems that are not cyclist friendly. However the Delaware has retained its unique personality and has escaped the ravages of progress. Source of the Delaware explores a three state area rich in scenic beauty, historical and cultural attraction, and diverse cycling terrain and landscape. We have discovered some of the prettiest country roads you will ever see and created an opportunity to experience a region as only a cyclist can.

East and west branches of the Delaware join in Hancock, NY
