Ride 25, 50, 75 or 100 miles along this historic route.

To Benefit The River to River Heritage Corridor Bicycle Tour, which starts and ends in Telford, PA, is a one-day event on Saturday, July 28, 2007 that takes cyclists between the Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers. Most of the route is along lightly traveled roads adjacent to Route 113, taking cyclists through small towns with farms, churches and businesses that date back to the 1700s. Most of the ride offers rolling terrain, but there are a few climbs along the way. Cyclists can ride routes of 25, 50, 75 or 100 miles; all routes are loops. A portion of the proceeds from the Bicycle Tour benefit Heritage Conservancy, a regional leader in natural and historic preservation. Founded in 1958, Heritage Conservancy promotes open space preservation, natural resource protection, property stewardship, historic preservation, adaptive reuse of existing structures, wildlife habitat restoration, and biodiversity. These goals are achieved through professional land use planning and design, public outreach and education, innovative land conservation and historic preservation strategies, and the application of best management practices for property stewardship. Heritage Conservancy is a nonprofit membership organization. To learn more, visit www.heritageconservancy.org or call 215-345-7020.

Tour Details

The route for the River to River Heritage Conservancy Bicycle Tour is designed like a figure 8, starting and ending in Telford, PA, with lunch in the middle. Rest stops are strategically placed along the route. Stops for refreshments are located 12 or 25 miles apart depending on the route, and are clearly marked on the cue sheets. You will be sharing the road with motor vehicles. Please remember to be safe and follow the rules of the road. The tour will begin with the Montgomery County loop first. Below is information about the day's events.

Please note: There is not a mass start to the ride

Cyclists should plan their day accordingly to the number of miles and average speed at which they will be riding, allowing a return to Telford in time for the luncheon between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and keeping in mind the time of SAG support.

Here are some examples:

If you are planning to ride the full century, you will want to be on the road between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. in order to ensure ample time to eat lunch and to finish by the end of the day’s events.
Cyclists riding only the Montgomery County 25 or 50 mile route will want to be on the road between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m., as SAG support will be on these routes in the early part of the day..
Cyclists riding only the Bucks County 25 or 50 mile route will want to be on the road no earlier than 11:00 a.m., as SAG will not be on these routes until then.
If you are planning to ride 75 miles (a combination of 25 miles on one route and 50 miles on the other, or vice versa) you should plan your day according to the Event Schedule, as appropriate
